175Quilt Art Submissions

In honor of the country’s bicentennial in 1976, a quilt was made to highlight important sites around South Windsor.  The quilt hangs proudly in Wood Memorial Library & Museum and an accompanying booklet describes each of the 42 quilt panels.

What do you think are important places and spaces in South Windsor today?

In honor of South Windsor’s 175th Anniversary, we are looking for submissions of original artwork of South Windsor to create a digital quilt.  No, you don’t have to sew!  Submit a digital image online by July 31, 2020.  We will feature all submissions in a permanent online exhibit on our website.

  • The place or space portrayed in the image must be in South Windsor
  • Be creative!  What’s your favorite spot, view or landmark?
  • Make your image square.  Or, crop your digital image to a square shape.  (If your image is not square, we will crop it.)
  • Any and all forms of still, visual art are welcome!  Whether it’s using cameras, canvas, clay or crayons, anything goes!  Watercolor, collage, needlepoint, pen and ink, pastel, photography, even computer design… whatever your preferred medium is.
  • Send a square-shaped digital/electronic image of your art (scanning is preferable, but a good quality picture without glare or background is fine too).
  • Deadline:  July 31, 2020
  • Watch as submissions are loaded on to our 175Quilt Exhibit page!
