Allyson Fournier

Recently named Division III Softball Player of the Decade by Justin’s World of Softball, Allyson Fournier can add another accomplishment to her list.

The South Windsor native graduated from East Catholic High School, where she began her standout career then went on to attended Tufts, where she spent her first two years as both a swimmer and a softball player for the Jumbos. Allyson saw a great deal of success during her college years, and is argued to be best pitcher in the history of NCAA Division III Softball.  She helped Tufts become the first Division III softball team to win three NCAA titles consecutively, and to be the first team to have a perfect season while also winning the championship.

In 2015, she and her team finished out the year with a 51-0 record, with Allyson’s pitching record standing at 35-0 that year. Allyson recorded the first-ever perfect season for an NCAA Division III pitcher, pitching five no-hitters to set a new single-season record (New England Small College Athletic Conference, 2015).

Allyson continued with her successful athletic career after college.  She became the first D-III athlete to play in the National Pro Fastpitch League, when she signed to pitch professionally with the Pennsylvania Rebellion, holding her own against elite Division I talent.

After such success, Allyson “retired” from the sport at age 22.  She is currently an applications engineer and resides in West Newbury, MA.
