Noted primarily for the 75 Civil War letters dated 1862-1865, this collection also contains letters from Erastus W. Burnham’s whaling days (1851-1858), letters from relations in Glasgow, Scotland (1855-1870), Civil War memorabilia, photos of the Burnham homestead on Pleasant Valley Road, a collection of about 500 Native American artifacts from the local area, genealogical material about the Burnham family, and audio tapes recorded when descendants Elizabeth Burnham Bennett and Edwin Burnham gifted the collection.
