Adult Gingerbread House Making Workshop: Creative Planning

Come learn the ins and outs of Gingerbread design and how to make your creation come to life! This workshop will be led by Janet Utay who has exhibited numerous creations in our Gingerbread House Festival over the years. It will focus on the creative planning that goes in to your creation before any physical construction begins. Fee is $10 Registration and payment must be made in advance.

Come learn the ins and outs of Gingerbread design and how to make your creation come to life! This workshop will be led by Tracy Oates who has exhibited numerous creations in our Gingerbread House Festival over the years. It is a follow-up to Janet Utay’s workshop and talks about creating a setting for your masterpiece and all of the little details that set it apart. Participants will learn how to work with fondant to enhance their creation. Fee is $10 Registration and payment must be made in advance.
Gingerbread House Workshop: Assembly & Decorating
Saturday, November 16 – 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Sunday, November 17 – 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
The Wood is offering a two-part workshop that will guide participants from gingerbread house construction thru decoration. This two-part workshop is for ages 13 and up that uses gingerbread house kits to teach the basics of creating a masterpiece.
Taught by Linda Stevenson, these workshops will emphasize creativity and practical approaches to constructing your gingerbread vision-whether it be a more traditional house or something completely original and perhaps even a bit unusual. Linda has worked as a cake decorating instructor for 38 years and has contributed many beautiful gingerbread masterpieces to The Wood’s annual gingerbread house festival. Participants can also choose to have their creations on display at The Wood during this year’s festival from November 29th thru December 21st or take them home after completion.
All skill levels are welcome-from beginner to our more advanced, ages 13 and up.
The fee is $50 for the two-part workshop which will be held November 16th and 17th from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm.

Children’s Gingerbread House Making Workshop

Family Fun Day Join artist Lynda Jones for some traditional holiday fun as you create a gingerbread house from graham crackers. Please bring an assortment of small candies for decorating and a tray to carry home your creation. All other materials will be supplied. Fee is $12 per house made.
