Check out the New
Self-Serve Lending Libraries

There are now two self-serve lending libraries, one for adults and one for children, at Wood!  Located on the lawn between Wood Memorial Library and Union School these two libraries offer a variety of books for our patrons to enjoy.

Simply choose a book, enjoy reading it and then turn it in at the book drop now conveniently located next to the new little libraries.  Books will be quarantined before being put back out or being returned to the collection shelves indoors.

Thank You to Art Utay and Janet Wade-Utay for building these wonderful new little libraries!

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Friends in 2021

THANK YOU Education Volunteers

Our new virtual field trips are taking off and we would like to thank Kristin Carmen, and Joan Degen, two education volunteers for helping to make them a success. Both were instrumental in putting the craft educational bags together for South Windsor and Tolland Schools.

Meet our Educators

Meet three more of our Nowashe Village museum educators!  All of the educators on our website have consulted with us for the creation of virtual field trips.

We have several educators that help bring authentic, high quality programming for our patrons. We are fortunate and grateful to have such talent working with us and we thought we would create an area on our website where we could share their backgrounds with everyone.  Meet Allen Hazard, Judith Dreyer, and Jim Dina!

Hot Pants In Hollywood is a Show Biz memoir, and much more. Susan Silver was one of the first female TV comedy writers with credits like The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Maude, and Bob Newhart, among others. If you love ‘Show Biz’ and want to know what it’s like behind the scenes, Hot Pants in Hollywood is very funny…sexy too!
