Since its founding in 1927, Wood Memorial Library has provided reference and archival collections in areas of local interest: Connecticut history and culture, Native American history and culture, and ornithology.

In addition to these specialized categories, we are proud of our children’s collection, with specialized books selected for preschoolers, board books, and more.

Our young adult / juvenile collection includes early readers, junior fiction, non-fiction, and more.

Our reference and special collections, including books, manuscripts, and archival materials, are searchable in our online catalog. These items do not circulate and are available onsite by appointment or during the library’s open hours, Mondays and Thursdays, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information, contact the archivist/reference librarian.

Our non-reference collections circulate for four weeks. Patrons may obtain a Wood Memorial Library card at our circulation desk. Please note that we are not a part of the state library system and our books cannot be returned at other libraries. We do provide a book drop outside for convenience.
