This collection includes newspaper clippings and photographs (prints and negatives) used in news articles. They were originally organized in manila envelopes with an individual’s name, organization or business name, or named event typed on the envelope. Many of these files were apparently maintained for many years, as they have multiple clippings and photographs of the same person or organization Most of the collection relates to people or organizations in South Windsor, CT, although some are from the surrounding area.
Many of the individual files are either engagement and wedding announcements or are about people who were notable for being involved in local politics, prominent in the local business community, being the perpetrator or victim of a crime, or being the victim of an accident.
