CT Open House Day

We will once again be participating in the 20th CT Open House Day event. This year’s event will feature programming that focuses on nature and takes place in Wood Memorial Library, Nowashe Village, and Station 43 Wildlife Sanctuary The purpose of this event is to inspire Connecticut residents to learn about all the experiences in their own backyard. This event is FREE however donations are encouraged and appreciated.

PLEASE check back closer to the date of the event for a more detailed schedule of events.  We hope to see you!

*Join us for a bird walk with Hartford Audubon Society member Jon Ward. This bird walk designed to introduce beginning birders to Hartford Audubon’s oldest sanctuary. Station 43 Wildlife Sanctuary is an excellent birding area year ‘round. This walk is over flat terrain but we may encounter muddy areas and water covering parts of the path. Bring binoculars or spotting scope if you have one. High, water-proof boots and insect repellent are suggested. This bird walk will last about an hour with mostly easy walking with the possibility of some very wet areas.

*Family friendly nature inspired activities and crafts.

*Living in Balance and Woodland Thrush Storytelling educational video programs will be available for patrons to view in Wood Memorial Library.

*Nowashe Village will offer educational programming with a focus on the Three Sisters Garden and native plants.
