Murder Mystery at the Mill

Skipper Rockwell, the long-time owner of the historic Podunk Mill on Ellington Road in South Windsor, requests your presence for dinner.  But who will attend?  Maybe his famous son Basil, the actor, who uses the stage name Sherlock Gillette!  Surely Terry Fitch, a relation of some sort who is handy with inventions and mechanics and has been trying to help Rockwell modernize the mill!  

It’s the late 1800s in South Windsor and YOU are about to be a fly on the wall of the most interesting (or awkward?) of dinners.  It’s probably time for Rockwell to name an heir… but who will he leave the mill to?  Will there be squabbling over his estate?  What if (gasp!) his no-good eldest son Hendrick tries to off him before his heir is announced, expecting the estate to turn over to him?

Join us at the historic Mill on the River for a lovely dinner overlooking the Podunk River dam and an entertaining evening of mystery, a wee bit of history, misunderstandings and … murder??  Our resident thespian, education director and collections manager Amanda Flynn Rumney, will take on one of the evening’s roles alongside two others with backgrounds in historical interpretation.  Additionally, a select number of guests will have speaking roles during the night – if you’re interested in partaking, please try to come somewhat dressed for the occasion.  No need to dress in period costuming, but consider doing so!
A three-course meal, featured below, will be served.  Cash bar.  While this is meant to be a night out for adults, interested teens aged 15 and up are welcome to attend with adults (however, there is no discount on the registration fees for teens).

jump shrimp over linguine pasta tossed with diced tomatoes, asparagus spears, and a garlic white wine sauce

chicken covered in melted Provolone, linguine pasta, house-made marinara sauce

roasted eggplant layered with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and herb Alouette cheese; topped with smoked buffalo Mozzarella and a house-made marinara over linguine
