Support the Festival

The Gingerbread House Festival is a major fundraiser for our nonprofit organization.

It’s hard to believe that this year’s Gingerbread House Festival is our 14th

Every year more than 6,000 visitors gaze on our display of more than 100 Gingerbread masterpieces, created by both professional and amateur bakers.  This year our “Snowed Inn” themed festival runs from Nov 29 – Dec 22, 2024 and also features a specialty gift shop, live entertainment and more!

The festival is a major fundraiser for the Friends of Wood Memorial Library & Museum, enabling artistic, cultural and educational programming all year long.  Sponsorships are vital to making this event a success.

Our festival garners extensive media coverage and over the years, we have been covered on all four local TV stations, WNPR radio, Yankee, Connecticut, Hartford, AAA and Go Local magazines, as well as the Hartford Courant and Journal Inquirer newspapers.

If you are willing to become a sponsor at any level, donations can be made on our website or via mail.  Feel free to contact us with any additional questions, and to send logos.

  • Online via the button below
  • By mail  Checks should be made out to “Friends of WMLM” and mailed to PO Box 131, South Windsor, CT 06074

Thank you for your support!

For the 2024 Festival, themed “Snowed Inn,” we are looking for donations of the following items to assist with decor.  Some items may eventually be sold in the shop in future years:

  • Plaid or checked fabrics in primary colors (red, navy, forest green, black, white, gold) – ribbon, throw blankets, shirts (flannel, men’s dress shirts), scrap fabric of any type.  Does not have to be new.
  • Woolen or knit sweaters, socks, mittens, blankets.  Does not have to be new or good condition, and socks/mittens do not need their pair.
  • Old wooden ladders, skiis, skates, sleighs
  • Vintage camping thermoses, picnic baskets, etc.
  • Flocked greenery (swags, small trees, garlands that look like they’ve been snowed on)
  • Vintage metal tins in plaid or are Christmas / winter themed (i.e. a red coffee can, cookie tin)
