Are you in the market for a hidden treasure? Do you find yourself ready to rid your house of unwanted items? Would you like the chance to participate in a fun community event? If these questions ring true, then the 5th Annual Town-Wide Tag Sale will be the event for you!
The Friends of Wood Memorial Library & Museum is again helping to promote a South Windsor town-wide tag sale on August 10, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There’s no better time than a Saturday in the summer to have a tag sale. This event celebrates National Garage Sale Day, which falls annually on the second Saturday of August. Those who choose to participate will place their items for sale on their property and will be given a lawn sign to signify they’re part of the event (no permits with the town are necessary). Participating locations will be included on a printable map available to the public online prior to the event, as well as in print at each location. The maps will include an overview of each participating tag sale in town which are sure to have a wide range of treasures.
Participants will be charged a flat fee of $25 to be included on the map and receive a lawn sign. You keep all of your tag sale’s proceeds! Deadline for registration & payment is Monday, August 5, 2024.
Proceeds of the event will help benefit The Wood’s Educational Programs. This town-wide tag sale will provide South Windsor residents with a wonderful opportunity to clean, shop, and discover. Unique items are sure to be up for sale, so you won’t want to miss this fun South Windsor event!
Sellers should set up their sales in a way that makes them feel comfortable and take into consideration the comfort level of potential buyers. Both sellers and shoppers should stay alert to town and state recommendations of social distancing, using sanitizer and washing hands, wearing masks, etc. The Friends are not involved in, nor responsible for, the actions of sellers or buyers during this community “event.” By voluntarily taking part as either a seller or buyer, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
