Tag Sale FAQs For Sellers

Who can participate as a seller?

This Town-Wide Tag Sale is for South Windsor locations only.  Check with your landlord or homeowner’s association if you’re unsure whether you’re allowed to host a tag sale (if you have several sellers in one apartment or condo complex, contact us for discounted pricing!).  South Windsor residents may also participate as a craft vendor (handmade crafts only), at your home.

I don’t live in South Windsor, but my friend or family member does.  Can I sell there?

Yes!  Just be sure to note the actual sale location in the registration form if it is different than the person’s address who submits the registration.

I own a retail shop, restaurant or service in South Windsor.  Can I participate?

If you wish to conduct a special sidewalk sale, offer a discount to those who bring in a map during the Tag Sale Tour (for example, a lunch special or percentage discount), or similar, contact us to discuss your participation.

Do I have to get a permit from the town?

No.

Are there any special regulations currently due to COVID-19?

No.  Sellers should set up their sales in a way that makes them feel comfortable and take into consideration the comfort level of potential buyers.  Stay alert to town and state recommendations of social distancing, using sanitizer and washing hands, wearing masks, etc.  The Friends are not involved in, nor responsible for, the actions of sellers or buyers during this community “event.”  By holding a tag sale, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Is there a rain date?

No, this event is rain or shine.

What do I get for the $25 registration fee?

We supply you with a lawn sign that will designate your sale as one officially on the Tag Sale Tour.  Your location (no names) will be on both the online interactive map as well as a printed version, which will be available at all locations on the day of the Tag Sale.  We also take care of all of the marketing – broadcasting your tag sale on our website, via email blasts, press releases, on social media on Craigslist and much more!

What will be on the map?

The street address of each tag sale location in a list, along with a map of South Windsor with flags.  Additionally, when you register to sell, you’ll choose from a short selection of item types that will be available at your sale.  This information will also be available on the map with your location.  We will not use your name publicly at any time.

Do you keep a portion of my sales?

No.  You only pay the $25 registration fee, and that’s it.  You keep all of your tag sale’s proceeds!

When do I get my sign?

Signs and maps can be picked up at The Wood on Mondays or Thursdays, or they will be dropped off to you.

I’m registered but have changed my mind.  Can I get a refund?

All registrations are final and no refunds will be issued.  For extreme circumstances, please contact us.
